A well-established privately held business is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the company’s day-to-day accounting operations. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the details while also serving as a trusted financial partner to ownership.
The Controller will have responsibility for the full accounting function, including maintaining accurate financial records, managing the monthly accounting cycle, preparing financial reporting, and providing ownership with timely cash balance information and other financial insights needed to make informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and execute day-to-day accounting functions
- Manage the full accounting cycle and monthly close process
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and other management information
- Monitor cash balances and provide regular updates to ownership
- Partner closely with the owner on financial and operational matters
- Maintain accurate accounting records across multiple entities
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting
- Utilize QuickBooks Online for accounting and financial management
Ideal Candidate
- Hands-on accounting professional with strong Controller-level experience
- Multi-entity accounting experience is required
- Comfortable managing the details while maintaining a broader view of the business
- Strong understanding of cash flow, financial reporting, and general accounting
- Professional, polished presence with excellent communication skills
- Mature, dependable, and comfortable working closely with business ownership
- Experience with QuickBooks Online strongly preferred
