We are looking for an Assistant Controller to support financial operations and strengthen accounting oversight for our Jacksonville, Florida team. This role will help guide core accounting functions, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain effective controls across multiple entities. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and the leadership skills needed to coordinate both daily accounting activities and periodic financial deliverables.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and support the accounting team in Jacksonville, including staff responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
• Direct local accounting workflows and refine procedures to promote accuracy, efficiency, and adherence to company and regulatory standards.
• Compile and prepare quarterly consolidated financial reports for lending partners and other external stakeholders.
• Develop quarterly tax-related financial reporting packages for presentation to board members and shareholder groups.
• Examine monthly tax financial statements for all operating locations to confirm completeness and consistency.
• Partner with external accounting firms during the preparation of the annual review and provide required schedules, documentation, and follow-up information.
• Assist with month-end close activities, general ledger maintenance, and balance sheet reconciliations to support reliable financial reporting.
• Contribute to audit readiness and complete additional accounting or finance duties that align with the scope of the position as business needs evolve.• At least 3 years of accounting experience in a finance or accounting environment.
• Hands-on experience with month-end close, general ledger activity, and account reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with financial statement audits and the preparation of supporting documentation.
• Working knowledge of accounts payable and broader transactional accounting operations.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to review financial data accurately and identify discrepancies.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational and team management abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with Epicor is preferred but not required.
