Responsibilities:
- Handle all phases of cases from inception to resolution.
- Conduct research to support legal proceedings and to formulate a defense or to initiate legal action.
- Provide advice and legal counsel to clients regarding their legal rights and obligations.
- Advise clients on business and legal transactions.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Draft, analyze, negotiate and finalize settlements for legal disputes.
- Stay updated with changes in legislation that may affect clients and the practice of civil litigation.
- Represent the firm and its clients in court hearings, trials, mediations, arbitrations or before government agencies.
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar.
- Admissions to other states are a plus.
- Familiarity with all stages of litigation and various legal documents.
- Experience with an insurance defense firm is a significant advantage.
- Ability to build rapport with clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
