The Machine Operator Lead oversees the production of custom straight trays that hold wires for manufacturing sites and warehouses. This role operates and leads production machinery activities to ensure trays are built to precise customer specifications while consistently meeting quality standards and daily output goals.

Responsibilities
  • Operate production machinery to achieve established quality and daily output targets.
  • Set up machines according to production specifications, including configuring and adjusting machine settings for efficient operation.
  • Monitor machine performance throughout the shift and make necessary adjustments to maintain optimal efficiency and product quality.
  • Perform routine quality checks on straight trays to ensure they meet customer requirements and internal standards.
  • Identify and address minor machine issues promptly to reduce downtime and maintain continuous production flow.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints and production drawings to ensure trays are custom built to exact customer needs.
  • Lead machine operation activities on the production floor, providing direction and support to team members as needed.
  • Apply quality control procedures during the production process to maintain consistency and reduce defects.
  • Operate and oversee punch press and cutting machines used in the tray manufacturing process.
  • Conduct basic equipment inspections and follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to coordinate workflow and meet scheduling requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn and operate multiple types of warehouse and production equipment as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Proven machine operating experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings.
  • 1–2 years of supervisor or lead experience in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • Hands-on experience with production processes and meeting daily output goals.
  • Background in quality control, including performing routine quality checks and addressing minor machine issues.
  • Experience operating punch press machinery.
  • Experience operating cutting machines in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong attention to safety and ability to perform basic equipment inspections.
  • Willingness to learn and operate multiple types of warehouse and production equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a loud, fast-paced, non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Reliability to work Monday through Friday with one mandatory Saturday per month on second shift.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility that is loud and fast paced, focused on high-volume production of custom straight trays. You work Monday through Friday with one mandatory Saturday per month on second shift, from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM. The environment emphasizes safety, equipment inspections, and adherence to production schedules while operating machinery such as punch presses and cutting machines.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ball Ground, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
