Molding Operator I

Pay Rate:$19.04 per hour
Shift:3rd shift, overnight
Schedule:Monday–Friday, with every other weekend requirement (Friday and Saturday)
Experience Level:Entry level

Position Summary

The Molding Operator I operates and maintains injection-molding presses while ensuring that molded products meet quality and production requirements. This entry-level position follows established procedures, completes required production documentation, and supports the movement, inspection, counting, labeling, and packaging of finished products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain injection-molding presses according to established procedures.
  • Visually inspect molded products to ensure conformance with the Quality Inspection Plan (QIP) and mold book requirements.
  • Package completed products according to the applicable packing process sheet.
  • Count, weigh, fill totes, and label products to ensure count accuracy.
  • Load and unload components into and out of molds, depending on the level of machine automation.
  • Move products and materials from one process to the next.
  • Complete required paperwork and production records, including information related to:
    • Production output
    • Scrap
    • Downtime
    • Equipment problems or issues
    • Labor reporting
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to follow established procedures and work instructions.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to visually inspect products for defects or quality concerns.
  • Ability to accurately count, label, package, and document products.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn company policies, procedures, and basic molding operations.
  • Previous manufacturing or injection-molding experience is helpful but not required.
