Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Location: Alpharetta, GA, Atlanta, GA, OR Boca Raton, FL

Duration: 6-12 Month Contract

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Python development expertise to support ongoing application enhancements, production issue resolution, and backend service development. This is a hands-on contract opportunity for someone who excels at troubleshooting complex systems, identifying root causes, and delivering reliable software improvements in fast-paced environments.

This role is ideal for a developer who enjoys working within existing codebases, resolving critical defects, and contributing practical solutions that improve application stability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Python-based applications and services
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production and non-production issues
  • Analyze application failures, identify root causes, and implement effective fixes
  • Support REST API development, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Deliver bug fixes, enhancements, and small feature improvements
  • Collaborate with technical teams to understand requirements and resolve issues
  • Review logs, diagnose system failures, and improve application stability
  • Investigate and resolve database-related issues across SQL and NoSQL environments
  • Contribute to code quality, maintainability, and system reliability initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of hands-on Python development experience
  • Proven experience debugging and troubleshooting production applications
  • Experience working with Python web frameworks such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend services
  • Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments
  • Experience using Git and version control best practices
  • Ability to quickly understand existing applications and contribute effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

•Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools
  • Experience working within Agile development environments
  • Exposure to Docker or containerized applications
