About the Role:
The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for supporting our underground construction and utility infrastructure teams, serving as a key link between office administration and field operations. This role will assist with scheduling, regulatory compliance, project documentation, and communication between office and field personnel. This position is crucial in supporting our directional drilling, excavation, and utility locating crews while helping ensure operations remain safe, organized, compliant, and efficient.
Essential Functions:
Crew Scheduling & Dispatch
- Coordinate daily dispatchesfor directional drilling, excavation, and utility locating teams.
- Communicate route changesor project updates to field crews in real-time.
- Optimize crew schedulesto maximize daily productivity and minimize travel downtime.
Compliance, Permitting & 811 Logistics
- Process and monitor 811 One-Call ticketsto ensure all work sites are legally cleared before digging begins.
- Verify utility marksand visual site photos against active permits to prevent utility strikes.
- Maintain local municipal permitsand ensure field operations strictly adhere to safety regulations.
Documentation & Project Tracking
- Track daily field notes, crew logs, and equipment utilization reports.
- Review as-built drawingsand verify field documentation for accuracy.
- Update project management softwarecontinuously to provide real-time status updates to stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience:Minimum of 1–2 years in construction coordination, utility tracking, logistics, or dispatching (underground utility or 811 ticketing experience is a major plus).
- Software Tech:Proficient with project management software, MS Office (Excel), and digital dispatching tools.
- Core Skills:Strong multitasking abilities, sharp attention to detail, and a calm demeanor when resolving rapid scheduling shifts.
- Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with field workers, project managers, and utility inspectors.
