NEW MANUFACTURING COMPANY IN THE AREA!

To operate a bag machine and produce bags to fulfill scheduled customer requirements and specifications while achieving the highest quality and output possible. Perform regular quality checks, and strive to achieve elimination of waste and a reduction in defects. Communicate and work cooperatively with your supervisor and members of your shift team.

MACHINE OPERATOR PAY AND SHIFT

  • $18.50-$19.00
  • 1st and 3rd
  • Mon-Wed 7a-7p (4 hours on Sunday)
  • Mon-Wed 7p-7a (4 hours on Sunday)
  • Thurs-Sat 7a-7p (4 hours on Sunday)
  • Thurs-Sat 7p-7a (4 hours on Sunday)

MACHINE OPERATOR MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

· Set up bag machines to comply with customer bag specifications;

· Perform necessary adjustments as required to the bag machine;

· Load rolls of film (using hydraulic or electric lift trucks), accurately stringing through the bag machine;

· Create cases (boxes) according to customer specifications, ensure all cases are labeled, stacked, initialed and identified correctly;

· Maintain the bag machine by performing minor maintenance as required, and maintain the area around and under the machine ensuring a safe, clean and organized environment;

· Arrange the set up of the bag machine for the following shift, informing the Lead Had or Plant Manager of low inventory and any problems with the machine;

· Produce accurate, concise, timely and legible information and record keeping for the production log.

MACHINE OPERATOR ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Ensure all scrap, empty cores, film rolls, skids and cased bags are stored in correct designated areas;

· Ability to fill in and operate different types of bag machines, pallet truck and lift carts as required;

· Adherence to all Health & Safety, Fire Emergency and Polyethics’ Policies and Procedures;

· Other responsibilities as assigned.

MACHINE OPERATOR EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

· Grade 12 diploma or equivalent training;

· Preferred knowledge of manufacturing or production processes and procedures;

· Ability to work in a labour demanding environment: stand for up to three (3) hours at a time, lift up to thirty (30) pounds and guide up to five hundred (500) pound film rolls onto a lift cart and onto the bag machines;

· Well organized, with a good attention to detail and accuracy with sound communication skills.
