Job Title: Side Loader/Forklift Operator

Duration: Temp to hire

**Location: Decatur, AL **

Shift:2nd Shift – Monday–Friday 4:00PM–12:00AM/1st Shift – Monday–Friday 6:00AM-4:00PM

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Side Loader will be operating a specialized forklift to load, unload, and transport long or bulky materials like steel, and pipes in warehouses or industrial settings A great opportunity- to build your career with a leading company while enjoying steady hours and overtime potential.

Responsibilities

Safely maneuvering the machine in narrow aisles, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring materials are moved efficiently and according to safety regulations.

Operation: Safely and efficiently operate a side loader forklift to move long, bulky, or palletized loads, such as steel, timber, pipes, or coils.

Loading and unloading: Load and unload materials from trailers, production lines, and storage areas.

Material handling: Transport and organize materials to and from specific locations, such as production lines and storage docks.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance like cleaning, lubricating, and fueling the equipment, and report any issues.

Safety and compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies to prevent accidents.

Quality control: Inspect product loads for accuracy and ensure they are secure for transport.

Record keeping: Weigh materials and record production data.

Team collaboration: Consult with managers, employees, and other departments to coordinate logistics.

Inventory management: Rotate stock and perform quality checks.

Paperwork: Prepare and process shipping documents.

Work area upkeep: Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements:

Must have a HS Diploma

Must have steeled-toed Boots

Must pass a Drug screen & Background

Experience a plus
