Analytical Laboratory Technician – Flavors & Animal Feed
Location: Mahwah, NJ
Pay: $24-$28/hr
Schedule: 8:30AM-5:00PM
A growing organization in the flavor, fragrance, and animal nutrition industry is seeking an experienced Analytical Laboratory Technician to support its Analytical Services and Research & Development teams.
This position is ideal for a Chemistry or related science graduate who enjoys hands-on laboratory work, analytical testing, and working with a variety of laboratory instruments. The Analytical Laboratory Technician will test raw materials, finished products, and experimental formulations while supporting product development, quality investigations, and technical projects.
Responsibilities- Perform analytical testing of flavor and fragrance raw materials, finished products, and experimental formulations
- Prepare and compound experimental formulations for laboratory and R&D projects
- Operate, clean, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Prepare samples and analyze laboratory data for accuracy and consistency
- Interpret analytical results and communicate findings to internal teams
- Prepare technical reports and maintain accurate laboratory records
- Participate in sensory evaluations and product development activities
- Assist with quality investigations, customer complaints, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
- Support R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Production, and other cross-functional teams
- Assist with method development, validation studies, and continuous improvement projects
- Maintain laboratory inventory, organization, cleanliness, and safety standards
- Follow established laboratory procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with training junior laboratory personnel as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of technical and proprietary information
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline required
- 1–2 years of laboratory experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with analytical laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Strong knowledge of laboratory practices and analytical chemistry techniques
- Experience in flavor, fragrance, food, animal feed, chemical, pharmaceutical, or consumer products is a plus
