Summary and Objectives:

The CMV Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional transport of Tree Brand Packaging (TBP) products and assets. This role operates 18-wheeler tractor-trailer combinations primarily on local, same-day delivery routes originating from and returning to an assigned facility; overnight or long-haul trips are handled by third party carriers and are not a regular expectation of this position. The CMV Driver ensures product is loaded, secured, and delivered without damage, and represents TBP professionally with customers and the public while complying with all applicable DOT/FMCSA regulations and TBP's Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Operator Policy. This role adds value by maintaining on-time, damage-free deliveries and protecting the safety of the driver, the public, and TBP equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Operate TBP 18-wheeler tractor-trailers (enclosed van and flatbed) to deliver pallets, crates, and related products to customers on assigned local, same-day routes

2. Conduct and document required pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip vehicle inspections, promptly reporting any defects or mechanical concerns

3. Properly load, secure, and unload cargo, including tarping and strapping flatbed loads, in accordance with cargo securement requirements

4. Verify delivery paperwork, bills of lading, and order accuracy at pickup and delivery, obtaining required signatures and documentation

5. Operate the vehicle safely and defensively in compliance with all traffic laws, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and TBP's CMV Operator Policy

6. Accurately record hours of service and duty status using TBP-approved Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs)

7. Maintain a valid CDL, medical certification, and all required endorsements; immediately report any change in license, medical, or driving status

8. Communicate professionally and courteously with customers, dispatch, facility staff, and the public

9. Promptly report accidents, incidents, citations, roadside inspections, or unsafe vehicle conditions in accordance with TBP policy

10. Refuel vehicles at approved locations or TBP bulk tanks, following proper fueling procedures and documentation practices

11. Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned tractor and trailer, and safeguard all TBP keys, fuel cards, and equipment

12. Coordinate with dispatch and facility supervisors on route sequencing, delivery windows, and schedule changes

13. Comply with all TBP policies regarding mobile device use, drug and alcohol testing, and vehicle monitoring systems and cameras

14. Assist with loading and unloading duties at the facility or customer site as needed

15. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Shipping/Receiving and Logistics Manager

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record

Current DOT medical certification, or ability to obtain prior to start

Minimum age of 21, consistent with FMCSA and TBP driver qualification standards

At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience or equivalent CDL training

Ability and willingness to operate both enclosed van and flatbed trailers, including load securement (straps, chains, tarps)

Working knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs)

Ability to pass required DOT drug and alcohol testing, background check, and motor vehicle record (MVR) review

Ability to safely perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and identify vehicle defects

Demonstrated understanding of, and willingness to comply with, TBP's Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Operator Policy

Strong communication skills and a professional, customer-focused demeanor

Desired or Preferred Qualifications:

2 or more years of tractor-trailer driving experience, including flatbed and tarping

Experience delivering to industrial, manufacturing, or construction customers

Clean MVR with no preventable accidents within the past 3 years

Forklift certification or experience

Familiarity with GPS, telematics, and mobile delivery/dispatch applications

High school diploma or GED

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit for extended periods while driving, and to frequently enter, exit, and climb into and onto the cab, trailer, and flatbed. The role requires bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting or moving cargo, straps, chains, tarps, and equipment up

to 50 pounds, with occasional team lifting of heavier items. Frequent use of hands and arms is required to operate vehicle controls, secure cargo, and complete inspections. Visual acuity and depth perception are essential for safe vehicle operation, backing, and cargo verification. The position may require climbing onto flatbed trailers in varying weather conditions to tarp, strap, or inspect loads.

Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position consisting of local, same-day delivery routes with no overnight travel. Days and hours of work vary based on location, customer demand, and shipping capacity. Requires flexibility as to actual days and hours worked throughout the week.
