Direct Counsel is seeking a seasoned Associate Attorney to join a growing Private Client practice in Philadelphia. This opportunity focuses on sophisticated estate planning, estate and trust administration, and transfer tax matters for high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and closely held businesses.
The attorney will collaborate with attorneys across offices and contribute to a team-oriented practice focused on exceptional client service.
Requirements
6+ years of experience in estate planning, preferably with an emphasis on transfer tax planning for high-net-worth individuals
Experience with trust and estate administration, including probate proceedings, trust administration, and gift and estate tax returns
Ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision
Strong academic credentials
Excellent written and oral communication skills
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar, or eligibility to waive into the Pennsylvania Bar promptly after hire
Preferred Qualifications
LL.M. in Taxation
Admission to the New York or New Jersey Bar and in good standing, in addition to Pennsylvania
Compensation & Work Arrangement
The position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including productivity and discretionary bonuses, insurance coverage, and a 401(k) plan. Actual compensation will be based on relevant skills, training, experience, location, and other applicable factors.
Attorneys are expected to work from the office three days per week, balancing in-person collaboration and client service with workplace flexibility.
