EVENT SALES MANAGER

Mammoth Fieldhouse | Marion, IL

Full-Time, Exempt | Reports to Director of Sales | Sales and Events

About Mammoth Fieldhouse

Mammoth Fieldhouse is where Southern Illinois comes to get off the bench. Pure Putt. Flight Deck. Pickleball. Battle Bats. A scratch kitchen and a full bar that would draw a crowd on their own. Open play, leagues, tournaments, and private events, all night, every night.

Three rules run our buildings: No Sidelines, No Spectators. Elite Isn't Exclusive. Competition Is Community. Everyone plays, everyone belongs, and a good time beats a good score. We do not shout. We cheer. There is a big difference, and everybody who works here learns it fast.

About the Role

You turn an inquiry into a night people talk about for a year.

The Event Sales Manager owns the booking from first contact to final invoice: the tour, the proposal, the contract, the BEO, and the handoff to operations that makes the night work.

We are hiring two. You will each carry a book, a target, and a set of accounts, and you will both be measured on booked revenue and on whether those clients come back.

This is a sales job with an operations conscience. The best Event Sales Managers sell what the building can actually deliver, then make sure it gets delivered.

What You'll Own

Sell

  • Own an assigned book of business and a personal revenue target.
  • Respond to inbound inquiries fast and prospect outbound consistently.
  • Run site tours that sell the experience, not the square footage.
  • Build proposals, negotiate within approved parameters, and close contracts.
  • Maintain clean, current CRM records on every account and opportunity.
Deliver

  • Write detailed BEOs and lead the handoff to kitchen, operations, and events staff.
  • Be present for your major events. The client should see you on the night.
  • Manage client communication through execution, including changes and guest counts.
  • Own post-event follow-up, invoicing accuracy, and rebooking.
Your First Year

  • First 90 Days: Your pipeline is full, your first bookings are executed cleanly, and operations trusts your BEOs.
  • First Year: You hit your number and a meaningful share of your book rebooks.
What You Bring

  • 2 or more years in events, catering, hospitality, or group sales.
  • Proven ability to hit a revenue target and describe how you did it.
  • Strong writing. Your proposals have to close on their own.
  • Organizational discipline across many active bookings at once.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends when your events run.
Certifications

Required, at hire or shortly after:

  • BASSET certification. Illinois requires it for anyone who sells alcohol, serves alcohol, or checks IDs, within 120 days of hire. Valid three years.
  • CPR and AED certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Our courts mean we keep a trained responder on the floor every hour we are open. Renewed every two years.
A plus if you already have it:

  • ANSI accredited food handler training.
We pay for every certification on this list and we give you the time to get it. If you do not have one yet, that is not a reason to skip applying.

Preferred

  • Venue, hotel, country club, or catering sales background.
  • CRM experience and event management software fluency.
  • Local relationships in Southern Illinois.
Working Conditions

  • Extended periods of standing and moving throughout the venue for the duration of a shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Facility has intermittent noise and variable lighting.
  • Nights, weekends, and holidays required.
What We Offer

  • Base pay of $48,000 to $58,000 annually, plus commission.
  • Paid leave under the Illinois Paid Leave for All Workers Act. Up to 40 hours a year, usable after 90 days, for any reason you like. You do not have to tell us why.
  • Food, beverage, and gameplay privileges. You work here. You get to play here.
  • Every required certification paid for, plus the paid time to go get it.
  • A seat in a growing brand. More Fieldhouses are coming, and we promote the people who build them well.
How to Apply

Send your resume and a short note telling us why this role and why this building. No cover letter template. Just tell us something true.
