Estimating & Preconstruction Manager
Location: Hybrid, prefer in office (Appleton, WI)
Company: The Boldt Company – National Power & Industrial
Anticipated Pay Range: $120,000 to $160,200 annually

As an Estimating & Preconstruction Manager, you lead how Boldt builds trustsetting projects up for success long after construction begins. You’ll drive pursuits and preconstruction efforts across power generation and pulp & paper projects, guiding work from early strategy through end of design and bringing clarity to cost, scope, and risk in complex, highvalue environments.

You’ll partner closely with owners, engineers, designers, and internal teamsusing Lean principles, openbook contracting, and integrated delivery to align stakeholders early and build shared confidence in project outcomes. This role blends strategy with execution: owning the estimating and bidding process, supporting contract negotiations, facilitating highimpact meetings, and making informed decisions with limited engineering detail.

Clientfacing and collaborative by design, you’ll present estimates and recommendations transparently, identify risks and opportunities, and help ensure a smooth transition from preconstruction into execution. While not a formal peoplemanager role, you are a visible leadersomeone who influences direction, holds teams accountable, and strengthens relationships across the full project lifecycle.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,200 annually. This information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual’s skills, experiences, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years in construction, estimating and preconstruction (Renewables, power, or industrial project experience)
  • Proven leadership of large, complex pursuits ($200M +) in power or heavy industrial environments
  • EPC or Desing-Build experience (power, pulp & paper preferred)
  • Leadership capability with a collaborative, respectful style
  • Proficiency beyond Excel (WinEst or similar preferred)

Nice to Have

  • Experience leading $5M+ pursuits
  • Exposure to selfperform work and labor rate analysis
  • Field experience or postaward preconstruction exposure
  • Lean, TVM, or riskbased estimating mindset
