Manufacturing Engineer

Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Location: Currie, NC Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Onsite – onsite Overview System One is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support the design and manufacture of our client’s products by connecting engineering requirements with shop-floor execution. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, this role develops and maintains engineering drawings and product documentation, provides technical support to manufacturing, and translates customer requirements into practical, manufacturable solutions. Candidates must be local to the Currie, NC area or looking to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and manufacture of the client’s products by connecting engineering requirements with shop-floor execution.
• Develop and maintain engineering drawings and product documentation.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing teams and resolve production challenges.
• Partner with operations to evaluate manufacturability and develop practical solutions.
• Assist in design reviews, test planning, and other engineering activities under the direction of the Manager, Engineering.
• Investigate manufacturing issues, develop solutions, and communicate changes to affected teams.
• Maintain accurate engineering information, drawings, materials, and documentation.
• Prepare drawings and designs using AutoCAD Mechanical and Autodesk Inventor, including solid modeling of sheet metal parts and assemblies.
• Convert legacy paper and 2D drawings into accurate 3D models and associated documentation.
• Create and maintain bills of materials within ERP system, support product sourcing, and ensure engineering changes are documented and communicated effectively.
• Translate customer requirements into engineering solutions, improve product designs, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical, or comparable CAD systems.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, customer specifications, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of mechanical drafting and engineering drawing principles.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn CAD and ERP systems.
• Ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and other functions.
• Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments, including occasionally lifting more than 40 pounds and standing, sitting, squatting, stooping, or climbing stairs as required.
• 2–4 years of applicable engineering, drafting, or manufacturing experience; recent graduates with relevant internship or co-op experience are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical preferred.
• Familiarity with ANSI Y14.2, Y14.3, and Y14.5 drawing standards preferred.
• Exposure to ASTM, AISI, NQA-1, 10 CFR Appendix B, or 49 CFR packaging requirements preferred.
• Experience with ERP-based BOMs, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement preferred.
• Electrical drafting experience is a plus.
