The Accountant CPA will play a critical role in managing and maintaining the company's financial health through accurate reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation. This position demands a detail-oriented professional skilled in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel, with solid knowledge of GAAP standards. The role focuses on internal financial processes without involvement in external audits or travel requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, reviews, and interprets data for inclusion in financial reports, statements, and summaries.
  • Reviews financial data for accuracy; identifies problems and supports day-to-day operations.
  • Analyzes and maintains all accounts receivable accounts, refund accounts, and deposit accounts.
  • Manage month-end closing; prepare journal entries
  • Monthly financial statements, including consolidation of multiple entities
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Produce accurate and timely monthly financial statements
  • Reconcile and explain variances to monthly revenue projections by each branch
  • Prepare monthly commission reports
  • Fixed Assets and capital expenditure tracking
  • Weekly cash flow reporting; reviewing daily bank reconciliations
  • Oversee the annual insurance audits
  • Prepare minority business applications
  • Special projects to include business acquisitions
  • Daily cash management and reconciliation
  • Strong in AR collections
  • Monitor AR and file liens as appropriate

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with three+ year’s experience in medium businesses or accounting firms, with a strong background in AR/AP, financial and management reporting, and consolidations of multiple entities.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficient in financial reporting and account reconciliation
  • Experience with accounts payable and receivable
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Good interpersonal skills are required to operate in and maintain a team environment.
  • Ability to solve problems with or without oral or written instructions
  • A high level of confidentiality and integrity is a must
