Sensible Recycling

Jacksonville, FL • $17.00 / hr • 9/9/2026

Job Description

Job Description

Sensible Recycling Jacksonville, FL
$17 per hour + Monthly Bonus | Full-Time | Monday–Friday Day Shift

Electronics Knowledge Is Required

This position is for someone with hands-on familiarity with computers, electronics, gadgets, or electronic components.

Before applying, you should be able to identify common items such as:

  • Desktop and laptop computers
  • Hard drives and solid-state drives
  • RAM, processors, motherboards, and graphics cards
  • Servers, network switches, routers, and other IT equipment
  • Audio/video equipment, gaming systems, and consumer electronics

You do not need a degree or professional IT certification. However, you must have enough electronics knowledge to determine what to save for resale and what to dismantle for recycling.

This is not an order-picking, packing, security, cleaning, delivery, or forklift-driver position.

What You’ll Do

Your work will include both electronics sorting and hands-on dismantling:

  • Inspect incoming computers, electronics, gadgets, and IT equipment
  • Identify equipment that may have resale or reuse value
  • Separate reusable equipment from obsolete, damaged, or incomplete scrap
  • Recognize valuable or reusable computer parts and electronic components
  • Dismantle computers, servers, laptops, and other electronics
  • Remove hard drives, SSDs, RAM, processors, circuit boards, wiring, batteries, and other components
  • Separate recovered components and recyclable materials into the correct categories
  • Use screwdrivers, drills, pliers, wire cutters, and other tools
  • Meet daily production expectations while protecting potentially valuable equipment
  • Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a good fit if you have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Building, upgrading, or repairing computers
  • Buying, selling, or collecting used electronics
  • Working in electronics recycling or e-scrap
  • Refurbishing, testing, or grading used electronics
  • Handling retired computers or IT equipment
  • Repairing electronics, gaming systems, phones, or other devices
  • Dismantling computers or electronics for parts
  • Working in a computer shop, electronics repair business, pawn shop, refurbishment center, or used-electronics business

Relevant personal experience may be considered, but you must be able to clearly explain what you have worked on and what components you can identify.

Additional Requirements

  • Comfortable performing repetitive, hands-on dismantling work
  • Able to use common hand and power tools safely
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet during the shift
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Able to follow sorting standards and production instructions
  • Careful enough to avoid damaging equipment or components that may be resold
  • Willing to learn different categories of electronics and recyclable materials

Compensation and Benefits

  • $17 per hour
  • Monthly bonus opportunities
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Supplemental health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Employee discounts
  • Opportunities to learn and advance

How to Apply

Submit a current resume describing your hands-on experience with computers, electronics, gadgets, repair, resale, refurbishment, recycling, or dismantling.

Your resume must show relevant electronics experience or knowledge. General warehouse experience by itself does not qualify an applicant for this position.
