A day in this role Manchester, NH
It’s 7:30 a.m. in our Manchester shop. You review a new aerospace component print, map out critical features with GD&T, and open Mastercam to engineer a clean, efficient toolpath for a 5axis Matsuura. By midmorning you’re on the floor, setting up a Fanuccontrolled VMC, validating offsets and probing routines, and finetuning feeds and speeds to hit tight tolerances. After lunch, you huddle with production and quality to troubleshoot a chatter issue, then partner with sales to build accurate runtime, setup, and tooling estimates for an upcoming quote. You wrap the day mentoring an operator on best practices and reinforcing safety protocols.
What you’ll impact
- Develop robust programs in Mastercam for multiaxis CNC machining to deliver highprecision parts.
- Design and refine manufacturing processes that elevate throughput and quality.
- Set up and operate CNC equipment (primarily Fanuc controllers) to validate programs and prove out jobs.
- Collaborate across engineering, production, quality, and sales to resolve manufacturing challenges quickly.
- Analyze production metrics to uncover waste and drive continuous improvement.
- Create detailed runtime, setup, and tooling estimates that strengthen our quoting accuracy.
- Coach machinists and operators on methods, efficiency, and safety.
What you bring
- 7–10 years of CNC programming experience (Mastercam, Gcode, Mcode) with proven multiaxis milling expertise.
- Handson machinist background in aerospace/defense manufacturing environments.
- Positive, teamfirst attitude and strong communication skills.
- Exceptional problemsolving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Comfort working independently and collaboratively, with a strong commitment to safety.
