Talascend is currently seeking an Electrical Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Allen Park, Michigan.

Overview

The Electrical Technician II will build, rework, test, repair, and install wiring harnesses on vehicles and on the bench. They will follow blueprints, schematics, BOMs, and P&ID diagrams to perform their tasks and collaborate with customers and team members to ensure quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, perform functional and safety tests, and reverse engineer wiring using hand tools and proper assembly techniques following work instructions.
  • Install lights, brackets, and electrical hardware to test boxes, automotive components, and vehicles according to specifications.
  • Test wiring and components for correct operation using schematics and diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform wiring reworks and repairs on bench and vehicle, crimp and solder, de-pin terminals, create basic schematics, and reverse engineer harnesses.
  • Maintain shop equipment by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
  • Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of electrical work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate in Automotive Electrical Technology or related.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience installing components on circuit boards.
  • Experience with automotive powertrain systems or electric battery systems.
  • Broad knowledge of vehicle systems (powertrain, chassis, electrical, thermal, exteriors, interiors, etc.) and related components, materials, and fasteners.
