Overview
The Physician is responsible for assessing and treating patients’ physical health including conducting exams and coordinating outside referrals. This position performs minor procedures and collaborates with psychiatric and interdisciplinary staff to ensure integrated care. Physicians also educate patients, ensure compliance with safety procedures, and tailor treatment plans to the patient's age and development. Travel may be required depending on facility needs, and work is in correctional clinical settings.
Responsibilities
Assess patients’ physical health through examinations and diagnostic procedures
Provide and oversee documentation, outside referrals, consultations, and follow-ups
Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff and provide education to patients and families
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Medical doctorate (MD) or doctor of osteopathy (DO) from an accredited university
EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years post-residency clinical experience in an outpatient/inpatient setting
Psychiatric experience preferred
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Licensed in the state of employment
Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and applicable certifications
Board certified or eligible in internal or family medicine
