Summary
Our client, a growing U.S. manufacturer serving highly engineered markets, is seeking an Assistant Controller to help lead accounting operations, strengthen financial controls, and deliver accurate reporting to support business decisions. This role will supervise the accounting team and partner closely with operations, supply chain, sales, and executive leadership.
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience leading or supervising accounting staff.
Must have accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. Aerospace manufacturing experience is welcome but not required; other manufacturing backgrounds will be considered.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls.
Experience with inventory accounting and manufacturing-related financial processes.
Must meet U.S. Person export-control requirements.
Nice-to-Haves
Cost accounting experience.
Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
Strong cross-functional communication skills and the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insight.
Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day activities of the accounting team, providing coaching, feedback, and clear performance expectations.
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end close to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation to maintain general ledger integrity.
Prepare and review financial reporting for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
Oversee accounting activities related to inventory, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and applicable tax reporting.
Partner with operations, supply chain, sales, and leadership to provide financial insight that supports planning and performance improvement.
Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
Support budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, special projects, and continuous improvement of accounting and reporting processes.
