Duration: 4+ Month Contract (Possible Extension)
Shift: 3rd Shift – Sunday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–7:00 AM
Pay Rate: $20.50/Hr. on W2
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Production Associate / Working Team Leader to support daily production operations in a manufacturing environment. This role combines hands-on production responsibilities with team leadership, machine setup, quality inspection, troubleshooting, and production coordination. The ideal candidate should have strong mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and troubleshooting ability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate work activities for a defined group of production employees.
- Assist with planning and scheduling daily work and production activities.
- Train employees on applicable Operation Instructions (OI), Standard Manufacturing Practices (SMP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Set up equipment and perform first-piece inspections to ensure required quality levels.
- Perform ongoing quality checks, record production data, and report discrepancies.
- Monitor machine and process variables and take corrective action when required.
- Troubleshoot issues affecting quality, production output, and equipment performance.
- Operate various numerically controlled machines and precision metal removal equipment.
- Use mechanical measuring equipment including micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and similar precision tools.
- Read, understand, and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, and shop mathematics.
- Communicate production changes, shortages, recurring problems, and deficiencies to the shift supervisor.
- Provide shift-end production quantities and recommend ways to address production shortfalls.
- Assist Engineering and Manufacturing Support with new products, methods, tools, and test equipment.
- Perform production, rework, indirect work, and other activities required for proper functioning of the group.
- Maintain compliance with EHS regulations and company policies.
- Demonstrate strong self-initiative, leadership, teamwork, and quality consciousness.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, including GD&T.
- Strong understanding of shop mathematics, including decimals and fractions.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC/numerically controlled machines or precision metal removal equipment.
- Experience using micrometers, height gauges, indicators, and other mechanical measuring devices.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership/team-lead experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. repetitively.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand/wrist movements, bending, and extended periods of standing/sitting.
- Must have sufficient visual ability to perform required quality checks.
