Hours: 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM
Travel Gross Weekly: $3,000 – $3,300/week (Based on Experience)
Local Rate: $80 – $90/hour (Based on Experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week contract assignment in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both scrubbing and circulating, along with IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
- Perform both scrub and circulating RN duties in the operating room.
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures and ensure appropriate preoperative care.
- Assist surgical teams throughout procedures while maintaining a safe and sterile environment.
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy as required.
- Provide care and monitoring for patients receiving conscious sedation.
- Monitor patient condition before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
- Follow infection-control, safety, and surgical standards.
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Respond appropriately to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience.
- Minimum 2 years of scrub and circulating experience.
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
- Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and patient safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment.
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
Required Licensure & Certifications
- Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Primary Source Verification of RN license and registration through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED).
- AHA BLS certification.
- AHA ACLS certification.
