Senior Software Test Engineer

Type: Contract-to-hirePay: $117–$125/hr (W2)Location: Huntsville, ALClearance: Active Secret preferred, or ability to obtain

Summary

We’re hiring a Senior Software Test Engineer to help build and run automated test solutions for mission-critical software. You’ll work closely with developers and other engineers to improve product quality through smart test strategy, strong test execution, and clear documentation.

What you’ll do

• Create and execute test plans, test strategies, and test designs
• Build/maintain automated test frameworks and infrastructure
• Perform integration testing, manual testing, and formal qualification testing
• Review and write testing/engineering documentation (industry standards)
• Collaborate daily with software engineers; mentor junior test engineers

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (CS, Software Engineering, EE, Math, etc.)
• 12+ years relevant experience (or 9+ with MS)
• Experience testing complex software systems and delivering automated testing
• Ability to code/scripting in one or more: C#/.NET, C/C++, Java, Python, Ruby
• Strong communication skills (technical + cross-team)

Nice to have

• Automated UI testing experience
• Experience with standards like IEEE 12207, CMMI, MIL-STD-882E, DO-178C/DO-278, RMF
• CI/CD, containers, microservices
• Embedded systems testing experience
• MBSE/SysML, MATLAB/Simulink testing, mission planning/navigation systems knowledge
