Work in Oakville, Ontario, with the potential to continue on future assignments in Michigan or other automotive manufacturing facilities throughout North America. The initial assignment is expected to run approximately seven months, with the potential for an extended assignment for the right individual. The project is focused on controls, vision, and ergonomic verification within an automotive manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform controls engineering, PLC programming, troubleshooting, and system debugging using Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley PLCs.
  • Support debug and startup activities for automated manufacturing equipment and controls systems.
  • Perform commissioning and inspection of controls and automation systems.
  • Support machine vision systems used within the manufacturing environment.
  • Perform and support ergonomic verification activities associated with automated equipment and production processes.
  • Ensure controls work aligns with applicable automotive OEM controls standards and project requirements.
  • Diagnose controls-related issues and provide effective technical solutions during startup and commissioning.
  • Provide technical training and knowledge transfer as required.
  • Travel between project sites and support future assignments in Michigan or other locations throughout North America.
  • Work independently within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing and industrial automation environment.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience as a Controls Engineer or in a comparable industrial automation role.
  • Strong experience with Rockwell Automation and Allen-Bradley PLCs.
  • Proven experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and controls debugging.
  • Experience supporting equipment startup and commissioning.
  • Experience working with automotive OEM engineering and controls standards.
  • Practical experience with machine vision or vision systems.
  • Experience with ergonomics and/or ergonomic verification in a manufacturing or automation environment.
  • Ability to support a day-shift schedule of approximately 8–10 hours per day, Monday through Saturday, with expected project hours of approximately 40–56 hours per week.
  • Ability and willingness to travel between project locations and continue to future North American assignments.

Assignment Details: Desired start is October 2026. The initial Oakville assignment is expected to last approximately seven months, with the opportunity for continued work afterward. Transportation and mileage/expenses are identified as covered, while lodging, per diem, and travel-time arrangements remain TBD.
