The Fire Alarm Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting various fire alarm systems, including conventional, addressable, and hybrid types. Working within a small team, the technician ensures systems meet all safety and code compliance standards while providing excellent customer support. This role requires on-call availability to respond promptly to emergency situations, with no travel between sites necessary.
Responsibilities
- Install fire alarm systems including conventional, addressable, and hybrid models
- Perform routine maintenance and thorough system testing to ensure functionality
- Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm system faults efficiently
- Conduct detailed inspections to verify compliance with safety and code standards
- Document all service activities and maintain accurate technical records
- Ensure adherence to all safety procedures during installation and maintenance
- Provide timely customer support and technical guidance
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide emergency response services
- Assist in training team members and customers on system operation and safety
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience working with fire alarm systems
- Technical certification in electronics or fire protection systems
- Fire Alarm Technician Certification
- Proficiency in fire alarm system installation, testing, and diagnostics
- Strong knowledge of fire code compliance requirements
- Proven troubleshooting and repair skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
