Associate Attorney

Our firm (a business litigation practice that includes construction, contract, and real property litigation) is looking to hire an associate attorney to handle all aspects of litigation, including communication with clients, research, reviewing documents, drafting pleadings and motions, taking and defending depositions, arguing motions in court, and handling trials.

Here are the qualifications we're looking for:
1. Strong work ethic. This person has to be willing to work until everything that needs to be done has been done. This is not a 9-5, Monday through Friday job. That doesn’t mean it is a 70-hour workweek, but it’s definitely more than 40 hours.
2. Self-starter. This person has to be self-motivated to take on tasks that need to be done, not just wait to be told to do particular tasks.
3. Smart (book knowledge AND common sense).
4. Willing to learn, teachable, and not afraid to ask questions.
5. Critical thinker. We need someone who can analyze facts and research and apply the law to the facts to figure out how to move a case forward successfully, whether as plaintiff or defendant.
6. Don’t be a jerk to people you oppose.
7. High Integrity in dealing withhe ri everyone.
