Day in the life
You start the morning reviewing a hands-on lab on motors and controls, then head to a customer site to lead a safety brief before guiding technicians through troubleshooting PLC inputs on a conveyor. After lunch, you refine a validation test, sync with the Senior Training Instructor on new instrumentation modules, and close the day by updating courseware to align with the latest NEC guidance. Tomorrow you’re back on campus at Pro Academy, where another cohort is ready for fluid power diagnostics and mechanical fundamentals.
The impact you’ll make
- Deliver engaging, world-class instruction across Pro Academy courses in general maintenance & safety, electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and instrumentation & controls.
- Serve as the SME for electrical and I&C curricula, translating complex concepts into clear, practice-ready learning.
- Co-develop and continuously improve training programs and curricula with the Senior Training Instructor.
- Write and edit outlines, lectures, lab materials, assessments, and validation tests to ensure clarity and rigor.
- Maintain and update course content, lab simulations, and assessments to reflect new equipment, systems, and regulations.
- Ensure all materials align with industry standards, OEM specifications, and safety regulations (OSHA, NFPA, NEC), as well as company policies.
- Evaluate learning effectiveness using assessments, validation scores, and customer feedback; iterate for impact.
- Assist in evaluating and selecting software and collaboration tools to enhance training delivery.
- Juggle multiple projects across Pro Academy with strong organization, time management, and follow-through.
What you bring
- At least 2 years of experience training, coaching, or instructing others.
- HS/GED plus 5+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or maintenance environment (required).
- One of the following: a bachelor’s in electrical or controls engineering; Journeyman-level Licensed Electrician; Controls Engineer; or equivalent background with PLC programming experience on CPUs and HMIs.
- Detail orientation with proven problem-solving skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines with accuracy.
- Familiarity with educational processes and with maintenance department operations.
- Clear, confident communicator (written and verbal) at all organizational levels, internal and external.
- Demonstrated passion for advancing technician careers through development opportunities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace (G Suite).
