Position Overview
We are seeking a responsible, energetic, and dependable Afterschool Teacher to supervise and engage school-aged children in a safe and supportive afterschool environment.
The ideal candidate can create a positive atmosphere where children can complete activities, socialize, relax, and participate in age-appropriate recreational and educational experiences.
What You'll Do Responsibilities
- Supervise school-aged children during afterschool hours
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment
- Plan and lead age-appropriate games, activities, and enrichment opportunities
- Assist children with homework and school-related activities when needed
- Encourage positive social interactions and teamwork
- Support children's social, emotional, and personal development
- Monitor children's behavior and safety throughout the program
- Assist with snacks, transitions, and daily routines
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians
- Maintain accurate attendance and program records
- Follow childcare center policies, safety procedures, and licensing requirements
- Work collaboratively with other staff members
Requirements Qualifications
- CDA, TCC, Associate’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous afterschool teaching experience preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
