Clayton Services is searching for a Quality Control Technician to join a thriving manufacturing company in the Humble, Texas area. The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for inspecting and testing raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with established quality standards and product specifications.

Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay Rate: $26.00–$32.00/hour, depending on experience
Benefits: Excellent benefits available upon hire.
Schedule: Fixed 2-2-3 schedule, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM or 6:00 PM–6:00 AM

Quality Control Technician Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming materials, work-in-process, and finished products.
  • Perform physical, dimensional, and laboratory testing according to established procedures.
  • Document inspection and test results accurately.
  • Identify product defects and manufacturing deviations.
  • Assist with investigations and root-cause analysis of quality issues.
  • Support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare product-quality and inspection documentation.
  • Maintain product and process traceability records.
  • Verify the calibration and proper operation of inspection and measuring equipment.
  • Enter quality and inspection information into ERP or quality systems.
  • Support process-control and continuous-improvement activities.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality personnel to resolve quality concerns.
  • Maintain compliance with plant safety and quality procedures.

Quality Control Technician Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of manufacturing inspection and quality-control practices.
  • Ability to use measuring and testing equipment.
  • Understanding of basic metrology and product testing.
  • Familiarity with root-cause analysis and Statistical Process Control preferred.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • ERP experience; SAP experience is a plus.
  • Spanish language skills are preferred.
  • Ability to work a fixed day or night 12-hour schedule.

Quality Control Technician Education and Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of quality-control experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience in metal manufacturing, steel, aluminum, wire and cable, extrusion, automotive, machining, or similar industrial operations is highly desirable.
  • Equivalent hands-on manufacturing quality experience will be considered.
