Project ArchitectLocation: Tampa, FloridaReports to: Principal / Senior Project ManagerEmployment Type: FullTimePosition SummaryTorti Gallas + Partners is seeking a Project Architectthat will serve as the technical and organizational lead for assigned projects, managing consultants, coordinating project teams, and ensuring design intent, quality, schedule, and budget are maintained.The Project Architectis responsible for leading the design, documentation, and execution of multifamily and mixeduse projects from concept through construction. They will be a handson project leader who balances design leadership with strong technical expertise and project management discipline. This position requires sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to mentor junior staff while delivering complex projects in a collaborative, principlebased design culture.Key ResponsibilitiesLead multifamily and mixeduse projects through all phases, including schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administrationTranslate design concepts into technically sound, buildable solutions while maintaining design intentServe as the primary point of contact for clients and consultants on assigned projectsGuide project teams through design decisions, technical challenges, and schedule milestonesParticipate in internal design reviews and uphold firm standards for quality and consistencyTechnical & Documentation LeadershipLead the production and coordination of construction documents using RevitEnsure drawings and specifications are complete, coordinated, and codeOversee BIM workflows and maintain organized, accurate project filesApply strong working knowledge of podium construction; wood construction experience preferred and concrete experience a plusUtilize Bluebeam for document review, coordination, and quality controlProject Management & CoordinationManage consultant coordination, including structural, MEP, civil, landscape, and specialty consultantsSupport project scheduling, staffing, and workload planning in coordination with leadershipMonitor project progress to meet deadlines and deliverables.Assist with project financial management, including fee awareness and scope controlLead construction administration efforts, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and field coordinationTeam Leadership & MentorshipMentor and guide Staff Designers and junior team membersProvide clear direction, feedback, and oversight of delegated workFoster a collaborative, accountable, and respectful team environmentSupport the firm's culture of professional growth, technical excellence, and shared responsibilityRequiredQualificationsBachelor's or master's degree in architecture5–7 years of professional experience in architecture, with a focus on multifamily and mixeduse projectsDemonstrated experience leading projects and coordinating consultants.Strong working knowledge of building codes and construction documentation.Proven experience with podiumstyle buildingsProficiency in: – Revit (required in all project phases) – AutoCAD – BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud – Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop) – Bluebeam – SketchUp – EnscapStrong organizational, communication, and problemsolving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound professional judgmentPreferred AttributesLicensure in Florida (preferred but not required)Experience across all project phases, including construction administrationStrong understanding of wood and concrete construction systemsDemonstrated leadership and mentoring abilityInterest in longterm leadership growth within an architecture and urban design firmAppreciation for collaborative, principlebased design culture
