We are seeking an experiencedGeneral Superintendentto oversee grading, excavation, site development, and underground utility projects throughout the Raleigh market. This leadership role is responsible for managing multiple projects, leading field teams, coordinating resources, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader with a strong background in earthwork, utilities, and site development who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Oversee field operations for multiple grading and utility projects.
- Lead and mentor superintendents, foremen, operators, and field personnel.
- Coordinate manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and materials.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Monitor productivity, quality, and project progress.
- Conduct jobsite visits and resolve field issues proactively.
- Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams to drive project success.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Build strong relationships with clients, inspectors, engineers, and subcontractors.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in grading, excavation, site development, and underground utilities.
- 5+ years in a Superintendent, Senior Superintendent, or similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of earthwork, storm drainage, water, and sewer construction.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and field teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications.
- Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between project sites as needed.
