About the Role
PRST is hiring experienced CNC Machinists for a full-time role at an industrial manufacturing facility in Merrill, MI. You will be the expert who transforms supplied programs and raw stock into precision parts through meticulous setups, program verification, and hands-on machining.
A Day in the Shop
You arrive early, review the job packet, load the right tools, and verify workholding. With the program queued, you dial in offsets, confirm calibration, and run a cautious first piece. Throughout the shift, you balance running parts on one machine while keeping an eye on another, fine-tuning feeds and speeds as conditions change. By day’s end, your parts meet spec, your station is spotless, and the next job is staged.
Schedule and Per Diem
- Per Diem: $130 per day worked
- Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Night Shift: Monday–Thursday, 4:15 PM–4:45 AM
- Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday, 5:00 AM–5:00 PM
- Hours: Expect 50+ hours most weeks, with added overtime opportunities
What You’ll Tackle
- Execute complex CNC setups and tune machines so provided programs run as intended.
- Verify and, when necessary, make adjustments to CNC programming.
- Run CNC equipment through intricate, multi-step machining sequences.
- Modify feeds and speeds during production to optimize results.
- Follow program notes, operational data, and setup documentation precisely.
- Configure tooling layouts, workholding/clamping, machine calibrations/offsets, and control settings.
- Perform machining tasks including boring, milling, drilling, facing, threading, profiling, and contouring.
- Inspect finished components to verify they meet dimensional and quality requirements.
- Continuously monitor machine cycles and intervene with adjustments as needed.
- Operate multiple CNC machines at the same time when required.
- Keep your area clean, well organized, and safe at all times.
- Handle other related duties as assigned.
