Senior Project Manager - Construction (Commercial & Residential)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead commercial and residential construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. The role combines strategic project oversight with hands-on coordination of budgets, schedules, subcontractors and on-site workflows to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget. A strong candidate will have deep construction experience including knowledge of drywall systems proven leadership skills, and a focus on safety and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of construction projects including pre-construction planning, procurement, scheduling, execution and closeout.
- Manage project budgets, cost forecasting, and change order processes to ensure profitability and financial control.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinate subcontractors and trades, and monitor on-site progress to meet milestones and delivery dates.
- Ensure quality control by defining inspection protocols, conducting site walkthroughs, and enforcing workmanship standards, including drywall installation best practices.
- Oversee safety compliance and promote a strong safety culture; ensure adherence to OSHA and site-specific safety protocols.
- Serve as primary client and stakeholder point of contact; provide regular status updates, manage expectations, and resolve issues promptly.
- Coordinate permitting, inspections and regulatory compliance across municipal and jurisdictional requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning, contingency management and timely decision-making.
- Prepare and review project documentation including contracts, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and closeout packages.
- Mentor and develop project teams, subcontractors and field supervisors to improve performance and support career growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of construction project management experience with a demonstrated track record at a senior level overseeing commercial and residential projects.
- Hands-on experience with drywall systems and workflows, including coordination of installation, finishes and quality inspection.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, cost control, scheduling and contract administration.
- Familiarity with construction management software (eg, Procore, MS Project, PlanGrid) and strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong leadership, communication and negotiation skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and subcontractors.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred; OSHA 30-hour certification or ability to obtain required safety certifications.
- Valid drivers license and ability to travel between job sites as required.
