Job Description
A Field Mechanic will repair vehicles, equipment, and machinery by performing the following duties.Responsibilities:Must be prepared to travelCrawls under or climbs in or on vehicles or equipment for maintenance and repair inspectionsRepairs, removes, and replaces moving parts and other components of vehicles, equipment, or machineryDisassembles, repairs, removes, and replaces parts of engines, transmissions, drive assemblies, brakes, and clutches of vehicles, equipment, or machineryTunes, adjusts, and regulates equipment engines, valves, pumps, carburetors, and other mechanical components with variable settingsLubricates and services vehicles, equipment, or machinery and maintains accurate records of such serviceRequests repair parts and lubrication supplies as neededPerforms all duties in conformance to appropriate safety standardsWhen not performing the above-mentioned essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by the supervisorRequirements:Certificate from college or technical school; or twelve months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have a valid driver's license.Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 poundsA good driving record is required.Repeat tasks of short duration according to set procedures and evaluate information using measurable standardsStand, sit, or walk for long periods.Use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objectsStoop, kneel, and crouchSee and hear well (either naturally or with correction)Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusThis is a safety-sensitive position.It is the policy of this company to assure that applicants are employed and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, or disability.
