Packing and Shipping Associate - Ceramics Studio

Job Summary

White Squirrel Clayworks is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Packing & Shipping Associate to join our small production team. This is a hands-on position working with handmade ceramic products and preparing retail and wholesale orders for shipment.

This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys staying busy, working with their hands, following an organized process, and seeing tangible progress throughout the day. Because we are a production studio, maintaining a steady work pace while producing careful, high-quality work is important.

No ceramics experience is required. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Pay: Starting at $15/hour. Pay may vary based on relevant experience, with opportunities to grow as additional skills and responsibilities are learned.

Schedule: Minimum 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Occasional weekend availability may be needed during peak seasons.

Responsibilities

• Wrap and safely pack handmade ceramic products for retail and wholesale orders
• Prepare orders for shipment by labeling, boxing, and organizing products
• Perform quality-control checks to make sure products and orders are correct before shipping
• Sand and complete minor finishing work on ceramic products as needed
• Assemble select products such as clocks, tea infusers, and soap dispensers
• Follow established packing and shipping procedures and written references
• Maintain an organized packing and shipping workspace
• Work at a consistent production pace to meet daily shipping goals and deadlines
• Communicate with team members and ask questions when instructions or procedures are unclear
• Apply feedback and become increasingly comfortable working independently as training progresses
• Assist with light studio cleaning and other production tasks as needed

We are looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, organized, and attentive to detail. The ideal candidate takes pride in completing work correctly, is comfortable learning through hands-on training, and is able to stay productive throughout the work day.

You should be comfortable both working independently and collaborating with a small team. We value employees who communicate openly, ask questions when they are unsure, accept feedback, and take responsibility for seeing assigned work through to completion.

This position requires standing for extended periods of time and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Reliable transportation is required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
