Lead Operations, Drive Quality, and Build High-Performing Teams in a Modern Manufacturing Environment

Position Summary

As a Production Lead - 1st Shift, you will play a critical role in managing daily manufacturing operations, supporting quality initiatives, coordinating employee training, and leading continuous improvement efforts. You will work closely with production, quality, and operations teams to ensure customer expectations are met while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities Production Leadership & Operations
  • Lead and support daily 1st shift production activities to achieve operational goals.
  • Monitor workflow, productivity, and staffing requirements across production lines.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining quality standards.
  • Coordinate resources and personnel to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Support machine operation, assembly processes, and overall manufacturing activities.
Quality Assurance & Process Improvement
  • Review weekly quality control reports and address identified issues promptly.
  • Participate in quality meetings to establish and track team-specific quality goals.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Operations teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Monitor production performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Promote a culture of quality ownership throughout the team.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and safety.
Team Leadership & Employee Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop production team members.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to improve employee effectiveness.
  • Support employee growth through ongoing training and development.
  • Foster a positive and productive team environment.
  • Maintain accountability while encouraging teamwork and collaboration.
  • Assist employees in achieving performance and developmental goals.
Training & Cross-Training Coordination
  • Support onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Ensure compliance with structured onboarding schedules and milestones.
  • Review and improve training procedures to enhance effectiveness.
  • Track employee training progress and skill development.
  • Coordinate cross-training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility.
  • Maintain staffing versatility across multiple workstations and departments.
? Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
  • Promote Lean Manufacturing principles throughout production processes.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
  • Participate in operational improvement projects.
  • Encourage team involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support implementation of process enhancements and best practices.
Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure employees follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Promote safe operation of machines, forklifts, and hand tools.
  • Participate in safety initiatives and improvement programs.
  • Support compliance with company operational and security standards.
  • Encourage a culture centered around workplace safety and accountability.
Communication & Collaboration
  • Participate in Team Lead and Operations meetings.
  • Facilitate communication between shifts to ensure operational continuity.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to resolve production challenges.
  • Communicate expectations, updates, and performance goals clearly.
  • Document training procedures and process improvements effectively.
Required QualificationsEssential Skills & Experience

Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, or operations environment

Strong background in plant, factory, or industrial manufacturing settings

Experience leading production teams and supporting workforce development

Ability to analyze quality reports and implement corrective actions

Knowledge of production line operations, machine operation, and assembly processes

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement methodologies

Experience coordinating employee cross-training programs

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Ability to safely use hand tools, production equipment, and manufacturing machinery

Excellent communication and leadership skills

? Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Production Supervisor, Production Lead, or Manufacturing Lead experience
  • Experience in door manufacturing, building products, or related industries
  • background in production management and workforce planning
  • Continuous Improvement or Lean Manufacturing project experience
  • Forklift experience and material-handling knowledge
  • Experience developing training programs and onboarding procedures
  • Strong organizational and process documentation skills

The pay range for this position is $63502.00 - $63502.00/yr.
