The VRF Piping Mechanic will fabricate and install refrigerant piping, complete high-quality brazed connections, and support system testing and commissioning.The ideal candidate has strong copper-piping and brazing skills, hands-on VRF installation experience, and the ability to complete work safely and according to manufacturer and project specifications.What You'll DoVRF Piping InstallationInstall VRF refrigerant piping according to approved plans and manufacturer specificationsInstall condensate piping, insulation, hangers, supports, and related componentsMeasure, cut, bend, fabricate, and assemble copper refrigerant pipingCoordinate piping connections to indoor and outdoor VRF equipmentRead and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and project specificationsCommunicate material needs, installation conflicts, and field concerns promptlyBrazing, Testing & CommissioningPerform brazing and soldering using approved proceduresComplete pressure testing, evacuation support, and leak detectionInspect piping systems for proper installation and secure connectionsAssist HVAC technicians with system testing, commissioning, and startupTroubleshoot and repair VRF piping systems as neededMaintain accurate daily reports and work documentationSafety & Field CoordinationCoordinate work with project managers, HVAC technicians, electricians, general contractors, and other tradesFollow VMG safety policies, OSHA requirements, and jobsite proceduresOperate tools and equipment safelyMaintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areasProtect installed materials, equipment, and completed work from damageWork efficiently with field teams to meet project schedulesWhat We're Looking ForMinimum 3 years of HVAC piping-installation experienceMinimum 1 year of hands-on VRF system-installation experienceExperience installing copper refrigerant piping on commercial projectsStrong brazing, soldering, and copper-pipe fabrication skillsAbility to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawingsFamiliarity with pressure testing and leak-detection proceduresAbility to work independently and as part of a field crewStrong commitment to safety, quality, and productivityValid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to travel to active project sites throughout the DMV regionWhy Join VMG?VMG offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:Base pay of $25–$35 per hour, based on experiencePrevailing-wage project opportunities paying up to $75 per hour when availableWeekly payComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off401(k) retirement planLong-term project stability supported by a strong commercial backlogTraining, skill-development, and career-advancement opportunitiesA collaborative, team-oriented work environmentMany of our foremen and field leaders began their VMG careers as mechanics and advanced within the company.Join VMGIf you are an experienced VRF Piping Mechanic who takes pride in precise installations and quality craftsmanship, we would like to hear from you.
