Available roles include:
- Elementary (grades K-2): Life Skills caseload, supporting four students and requiring prior life skills classroom experience.
- Intermediate (grades 3-5): Behavioral caseload for five students (partially self-contained), focusing on positive behavior interventions and instructional adaptations; prior behavioral experience is essential.
- High School (life skills): If you bring both behavioral and life skills experience, there’s a unique pathway to serve alongside the younger grades and then transition to a secondary caseload (five students) for an extended maternity leave beginning in November. This could extend the assignment to the end of the academic year.
Desired Background:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification
- Recent experience working with behavioral supports and/or life skills in a school setting
- Adaptability and comfort working in both elementary and secondary environments are highly valued
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and families
- Enthusiasm for student-centered instructional strategies
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering individualized instruction and supports based on students’ IEPs
- Partnering with school teams and families to ensure student progress
- Managing daily routines, classroom organization, and behavioral supports
- Documenting services and tracking student growth
