Our client, a concrete equipment dealer & fabrication company, is looking to add to their growing team.
Position Summary
The Engineering Specialist plays a key role in supporting our estimating department through data entry, vendor communications, document management, and cost tracking. The ideal candidate has experience working with CAD Inventor, understands basic mechanical components, and is comfortable working with vendors to gather quotes and pricing for construction-related materials and services.
Key Responsibilities:
Review project specifications, architectural drawings, and customer requirements to determine equipment and component needs.
Develop complete and accurate quotations for concrete batch plants, including mechanical, electrical, and structural components.
Specify and source appropriate materials, parts, and third-party equipment from suppliers.
Prepare bills of materials (BOM) and coordinate with engineering and production teams to ensure feasibility and compliance.
Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure customer expectations are met.
Maintain and update pricing databases, vendor information, and standard quotation templates.
Respond to RFQs (Requests for Quotation) in a timely and professional manner.
Provide technical support and clarification to customers during the proposal phase.
Ensure quotations are aligned with margin goals and pricing strategies.
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in concrete batch plant fabrication, industrial equipment sales, or similar field.
Proficient in reading technical drawings, specifications, and blueprints.
Strong knowledge of concrete batching components such as mixers, conveyors, silos, weigh hoppers, dust collection systems, and automation controls.
Experience with ERP, CAD software, and quotation tools preferred.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple proposals and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, or related field preferred (experience may substitute for degree).
