Mechanical Engineer: Dixon, IL
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to joinour client’steam within a manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys taking concepts from design through production and wants to remain connected to the manufacturing floor.The Mechanical Engineer will support product design and redesign, cost-reduction initiatives, prototyping, testing, engineering documentation, and design for manufacturability. The role will have a primary focus on equipment used within the snow and ice removal industry and will collaborate closely with product development and production teams.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Transform concepts into manufacturable 3D models, drawings, and supporting engineering documentation
- Develop innovative, cost-effective solutions within established project scopes and constraints
- Participate in design reviews with product development and manufacturing teams
- Support new products and design improvements from concept through successful implementation
- Manage engineering documents and workflows using SolidWorks PDM
- Create, monitor, and document testing for products, prototypes, and components
- Troubleshoot engineering and manufacturing challenges directly with production-floor personnel
- Partner with production to identify and implement effective manufacturing processes
- Provide drawings, instructions, and technical support to the shop floor.
- Evaluate conceptual and competitive product designs
- Develop technical documentation, including service bulletins and operation manuals
Skills & Experience:
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field,required
- Experience:2+ years of mechanical engineering or industrial design experience,required
- Knowledge:FEA, metal fabrication, & hydraulic systems,required
- Software:SolidWorksPDMor similar 3D CAD software,required
