Direct Service Providers (DSP):

Direct Service Providers (DSPs) include personal care attendants, direct support professionals, CNA, and etc..

  • They provide a wide variety of home and community-based, health-related services that support or assist individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • They provide instruction, guidance, mentoring, companionship, and support to individuals with special medical needs.

DIRECT SERVICE PROVIDER RESPONSIBILITIES.
•\tTrain and experience in adult and child first aid and CPR.
•\tCertify medicine administer, CPR and first aid certify, CPI certify.
•\tAssist residents in activities of daily living (ADL's) on a daily basis.
•\tJob duties include job coaching, skill training, ADL management, and implementing behavior management plans.
•\tAssist consumers in areas of personal and social interaction, communication and sensory awareness.
•\tBuild mutually pleasurable activity routines within natural activities that offer opportunities to develop communication, social, self-regulation and learning skills.
•\tPrepare documents on the computer for annual ISP meetings with clients and their team members.
•\tPass medications, attend ISP meetings, help with personal hygiene, work on state goals.
•\tAdminister emergency protocol and provide transportation to all appointments, therapy sessions, and daily/weekly errands.
