We are seeking a dedicated MEP Superintendent to lead and oversee all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and specialty systems for a designated building on a large-scale Data Center construction project in Columbus, OH. This role requires ensuring that all MEP-related activities are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage MEP subcontractors.
  • Monitor installation progress and resolve field issues.
  • Support quality and commissioning efforts.
  • Partner with project management teams to drive successful project execution.
  • Maintain schedule commitments and enforce safety expectations.
  • Ensure all building systems are installed and operating according to design requirements.

Essential Skills

  • 7+ years of construction superintendent experience with a strong focus on MEP.
  • Experience overseeing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty subcontractors.
  • Ability to manage all MEP scopes for large-scale commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
  • Strong understanding of installation sequencing, commissioning, coordination, and quality control.
  • Experience working for a general contractor or MEP contractor.
  • Open to travel.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, data center, industrial, or manufacturing construction projects.
  • Knowledge of commissioning, startup, and turnover processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Experience leading subcontractor meetings and driving field coordination efforts.

Work Environment

This field-based position supports a large-scale construction project, requiring daily coordination with project management, subcontractors, and client stakeholders. You will be responsible for one building with full oversight of all MEP scopes. Expect a fast-paced environment with typically 50-hour work weeks (Monday to Friday) and occasional weekends. Travel home schedules vary by project and can be arranged with the site lead. Qualified travelers may receive a per diem of approximately $3,000-$4,000 per month.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
