Front desk receptionist
Position Summary:
We areseekinga reliable, detail-oriented, and compassionate individual to join our ophthalmology practice as a Front Desk Receptionist. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to begin a career in healthcare administration and patient services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a professional and welcoming environment.
- Check patients in and out for ophthalmology and optometry appointments.
- Schedule appointments and manage provider calendars, including surgical and diagnostic testing schedules.
- Answer incoming calls, route messages appropriately, and provide clear informationregardingoffice policies.
- Verify medical insurance and vision plan eligibility; collect co-pays and balances.
- Assistpatients with completing forms, including medical history and consent forms.
- Maintain patient confidentiality andcomply withHIPAA regulations.
- Perform filing, scanning, and data entry into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Prepare and organize charts, referrals, andtestingdocumentation as needed.
- Prepare medical records as needed.
- Keep the front desk and waiting area clean, organized, andpatient-ready.
- Special projects.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computerproficiency.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Friendly, professional demeanor with a patient-first attitude.
Preferred Skills:
