We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Fabricator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing, assembling, and repairing metal structures and components using a variety of tools and techniques for our customers' medium and heavy-duty trucks. This role requires precision, safety awareness, and the ability to interpret technical drawings.

Essential Duties:

  • Performs work as outlined on work orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.

  • Measures, cuts, bends, and shapes metal materials using hand tools, power tools, and machinery

  • Welds or solders metal components using MIG, TIG, or arc welding techniques

  • Assembles metal structures and ensures proper alignment and fit.

  • Performs entry-level mechanic work on roll-off and dump trucks.

  • Performs quality checks to ensure finished products meet specifications

  • Documents all work performed.

  • Maintains tools and equipment and follows safety protocols.

  • Collaborates with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical training or certification in welding or fabrication preferred

  • Proven experience in metal fabrication or a related field

  • 1-3 years of heavy truck mechanic experience preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

  • Proficiency with fabrication tools and welding equipment

  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity

  • Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods

  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards

  • Must have own set of tools

  • Basic computer skills

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations with only limited resources. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform these functions.

  • Manual Dexterity & Tool Operation: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, and reach. Regular operation of torque wrenches, air-powered tools, hand tools, and large tool chests. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and common welding symbols.

  • Mobility & Body Positioning: Ability to walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and enter or exit vehicle cabs as needed. Ability to stand, sit, or work with arms raised above shoulder level for extended periods. Use of creepers or rolling devices to access under-vehicle areas. Ability to safely climb to access engine compartments, firewalls, or roof areas.

  • Lifting & Movement: Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs, frequently lift and move up to 100 lbs, and occasionally lift and move more than 100 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to push and pull heavy equipment, including large tool chests.

  • Vision Requirements: Ability to maintain close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustments necessary for detailed repair work.

  • Communication & Shop Environment: Ability to talk and hear in a shop environment with moving equipment, elevated noise levels, and varying physical conditions.
