Senior Architectural Project Manager - Healthcare

Jacksonville, Florida | Full-Time | $115,000-$130,000 per year

Lead complex healthcare projects from early planning through construction while guiding multidisciplinary teams, strengthening client relationships, and delivering thoughtful, technically sound design solutions.

We are seeking a licensed Senior Architectural Project Manager with 10+ years of architectural experience and a strong background in healthcare design. This role is ideal for an experienced leader who can balance design excellence, technical execution, client service, team development, and project profitability.

What You'll Do

  • Lead healthcare architecture projects through programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, permitting, and construction administration.
  • Manage project scope, fees, budgets, schedules, staffing, consultants, contracts, and additional services.
  • Serve as the primary client contact and maintain clear, timely communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, interior designers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead client meetings, project presentations, design workshops, and consultant coordination sessions.
  • Translate client goals, operational needs, and technical requirements into effective architectural solutions.
  • Consult with clients to determine functional and project-specific requirements related to design, specifications, materials, colors, equipment, estimated costs, and construction schedules.
  • Oversee project documentation to ensure alignment with design intent, contractual requirements, applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project work plans, including scope, budget, schedule, consultant responsibilities, fees, costs, and additional services.
  • Manage project performance and financial reporting using Deltek Vantagepoint or comparable project-management software.
  • Maintain accountability for project profitability, schedule performance, and successful delivery.
  • Implement and manage quality assurance and quality control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Anticipate project risks, resolve design and coordination issues, and make timely, well-informed decisions.
  • Mentor project architects, designers, and emerging professionals while supporting professional development and team accountability.
  • Participate in business development, client interviews, proposal preparation, fee development, and relationship-building activities.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services, repeat work, and new projects.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and applicable agencies.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of architectural practice, including significant project-management responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering healthcare architecture projects through all phases of design and construction.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare design requirements, architectural building systems, building and accessibility codes, construction methods, material applications, specifications, and sustainable design.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, project budgets, schedules, contracts, and client relationships.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Newforma, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team-development abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to make confident, timely decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain close attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel locally for client meetings and project-site visits.
  • Willingness to use an insured personal vehicle for work-related travel when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • NCARB certification.
  • LEED Green Associate or another recognized sustainability credential.
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Experience with commercial or government projects.
  • Experience with design-build delivery methods and developer-led projects.
  • Familiarity with Florida building codes, permitting processes, healthcare regulations, and construction practices.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $115,000-$130,000 annually.

Compensation within this range will be based on relevant experience, architectural licensure, healthcare project expertise, technical qualifications, leadership capabilities, and other job-related factors.
