Welder/Fitter

Welder/Fitter – Livonia, MI

We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fitter who can read and build from blueprints, perform highquality MIG welding, and complete accurate fitup on structural steel components. Candidates must be able to work independently, maintain precision, and support structural fabrication in a fastpaced environment.

Schedule & Pay

• Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• OT: Until 4:30 PM when needed
• Pay: Up to $30/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Blueprint Interpretation Build structural components directly from prints.
• Structural MIG Welding Weld carbon and mild steel in multiple positions.
• FitUp & Assembly Measure, layout, fit, and tack structural parts.
• TapeMeasure Accuracy Read a tape measure confidently and accurately for layout and fabrication.
• Fabrication Work Use saws, grinders, plasma cutters, and other shop tools.
• Quality & Inspection Verify dimensions, weld quality, and overall accuracy.
• Safety Compliance Follow OSHA and shop safety standards.

Requirements

• Ability to read and build from detailed blueprints and welding symbols.
• Strong MIG welding experience; FCAW experience a plus.
• Proven ability to read a tape measure accurately.
• Structural welding or fabrication background preferred.
• Ability to lift, measure, fit, and assemble steel components.
• Reliable attendance and willingness to work OT when needed.
