This role involves hands-on work in an aerospace parts production environment, focusing on cutting and refurbishing metal components to precise specifications. You operate saws and measuring tools, handle and move materials, follow detailed work instructions, and accurately record production data using computers.

Responsibilities
  • Operate chop saws to remove ceramic material, filter balls, and rods from aerospace parts safely and efficiently.
  • Cut metal parts to exact specifications required by aerospace customers, maintaining high quality standards.
  • Use measuring equipment such as tape measures, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools to verify that parts meet required specifications.
  • Read and interpret detailed work instructions and production documentation to perform tasks correctly.
  • Lift and move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds as needed throughout the shift.
  • Operate computers to enter data on finished parts and maintain accurate production records.
  • Occasionally use micrometers, gauges, and other measurement devices to confirm dimensions and tolerances.
  • Work with hand tools, power tools, grinders, and saws in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and fulfill customer orders on time.
  • Follow all safety procedures when working around machinery, chemicals, and production equipment.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with machinery and tools.
  • Computer literacy and experience using computers for data entry and basic operations.
  • Experience with general labor and production work.
  • Ability to operate saws, including chop saws and bandsaws.
  • Basic machine operation skills in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and follow them accurately.
  • Comfort using hand tools and power tools in a safe manner.
  • Attention to detail when measuring and cutting metal parts to specification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with grinder operation and grinding processes.
  • Background in wood cutting, construction, or similar mechanically inclined work.
  • Familiarity with measuring devices such as gauges, micrometers, calipers, and tape measures.
  • Experience working with metal parts in a production or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small team-oriented setting.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This is a smaller production facility with a tight-knit team working together toward shared goals. The workspace includes four different saws used to cut and refurbish aerospace metal parts, as well as a warehouse area containing chemicals used to clean finished components. The environment is hands-on and mechanically focused, with regular use of saws, grinders, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Work is performed on a first shift schedule from 6:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., with two 30-minute breaks provided during the day. The atmosphere emphasizes collaboration, safety, and mutual support, and employees are treated as valued contributors rather than just numbers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chagrin Falls, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
