Structural Steel Fabrication Supervisor
Location: Cocoa Beach, FL
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Starting Pay: $30.00/hour; higher pay may be available depending on experience
Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Fabrication Supervisor to help direct day-to-day shop production. This is a hands-on leadership position supporting fitters, welders, and other fabrication employees while keeping work on schedule and meeting safety and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate shop activities to support production schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Direct daily assignments and balance workloads among fabrication personnel.
- Provide hands-on guidance with fit-up, welding, layout, and blueprint interpretation.
- Assist with resolving fabrication, equipment, and production issues.
- Track workflow and communicate production updates or concerns to shop leadership.
- Ensure employees follow safety procedures, quality requirements, and shop policies.
- Coordinate with maintenance to help minimize equipment downtime.
- Work with Quality Control on inspections, dimensional checks, and required documentation.
- Support employee onboarding, training, and development.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabrication area.
- Perform other shop leadership duties as needed.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience leading or supervising structural steel fabrication teams.
- Strong experience with welding, fit-up, layout, and structural steel fabrication.
- Experience operating or working with CNC fabrication equipment and shop machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Understanding of workplace safety, quality standards, and production processes.
- Tekla EPM/GO experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or flexible hours when production needs require.
