EssentialDuties

• Set up and operate CNC machining centers; run production to print and to specification
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material
• Set program work coordinates according to written instructions
• Detect and change worn tooling; apply tool radius (cutter) compensation at the CNC control to maintain part conformity
• Start and monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as required
• Study engineering drawings to determine dimensions and tolerances; verify conformance of the finished workpiece to specification
• Perform first-piece and in-process inspection and record results as required by the quality system
• Confer with production personnel, programmers, and engineering to resolve machining problems
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Perform other duties and assignmentsasdirected

ExperienceandEducation

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience running vertical or horizontal CNC machining centers, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Medical device, aerospace, or other regulated-industry machiningexperiencepreferred,butnotrequired

Knowledge,Skills,andAbilities

• Proficient with precision measuring instruments including, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gage pins
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings; GD&T experience preferred
• Shop math: decimals, fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions, geometry, and trigonometry
• Able to read, understand, and follow internal procedures, policies, and written work instructions, and to follow through on verbal direction
• Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
• Basiccomputerknowledgeandskills

PhysicalRequirements

Standing and walking for the majority of the shift. Regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds unassisted; occasionally up to 75 pounds with assistance or a lift assist. Manual dexterityandclosevisualacuityrequiredforprecisionmachiningandinspectionwork.
